TUESDAY 74th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY FOR MY PARENTS
June 6th, 2023
marks my parents 74th wedding anniversary. Though they are both
deceased, we still honor and cherish them and their eternal marriage and maybe
next year we’ll have to have a family celebration in their honor.

DISTRICT COUNCIL
We know that our time
with our district is winding down before transfers and we are so grateful for
their examples, their faith and the amazing miracles they’ve experienced. En avant!

BANNER CREATIONS
I’ve been working on a
couple of stand-up banners for the missionaries to use for Sharing Church
Resources and hope they get approved and are able to start using them soon. Maybe
you might get a preview another week.
ZOOM MEETINGS THIS WEEK
During the week we met
with Elder and Sister Reneer, Riley, Rellaford and Joshua Boswell. We are so
inspired by all they are doing in their respective places and for the tremendous
help Joshua Boswell is giving us.

This week we were able to
watch a fireside put on by Tom and Gayle Holdman previously recorded last week
in Paris, as they walked through their beautiful
display, with explanations, testifying and sharing with us, and helping us to
discover the truths in the smallest parts of Tom’s masterpiece. It was incredible!
I hope you can watch it, though it’s in English, there is French translation
going on as well.

“The “Believe in Him”
exhibit has been an unqualified success, with a steady stream of visitors each
day. We are so very grateful to the Roots of Humanity Foundation and to the
amazing artists at Holdman Studios.
On opening night, Tom
Holdman and Gayle Terry Holdman shared inspiring stories of how the project
came to be, and the many messages which can be found in the stained glass. We
were delighted to hear Sissel Kyrkjebø [a favorite performer with
Tabernacle Choir] share her musical talents and remind us that this truly is a
wonderful world.” Shared by President Hansen – France Paris Mission

Each Zone Conference is presented
quite uniquely, and we loved the changes that allowed us to keep moving, so
that it would help prevent sleepiness from sitting so long. We also enjoyed the
wonderful activities, role plays, music, testimonies, and lunch in-between that
made it so nice for a daylong event. We learned much about faith at this conference
and the importance of expecting miracles. They are happening in abundance throughout
the mission.
Elder Samuel Johnson - his 2 years has come to an end. Such an amazing optimistic missionary! |
An activity to see if you can you think of two things, like showing love towards others and getting to know them while playing a game. Not so easy, but they tried first by being kind! |

We first attended the Saturday
Stake Conference session for all Adults. It was well attended, and we were grateful
for the inspired and beautiful messages shared. We also loved seeing members
from the varied wards in the stake that we had met as we went around talking
with everyone. They are all so loving.
Sunday’s meeting was wonderful
as well. All meetings were held in the Stake building, which is our building, for
the Val de Saône and Écully Ward members in person and then all others watched via
Zoom. We were so grateful to meet again with these dear people who have become
such loving and dear friends. Embraces and tears of love and joy were exchanged
with one another. We treasure these moments and will for the rest of our lives.
We can see why my parents dearly loved these people and this area.

Brent building a home inside a
Our 5th child,
Brent, has been building his home inside a large barn that was on their property
in Burley, Idaho (over 100 years old) when they bought it. He finally decided
to build a home inside (as it was in pretty good structural shape for the most
part, considering its age). Periodically family and friends have gone to help
him out, but it’s been a huge project no matter, and most of it he has done on
his own. We’re so proud of his amazing skills to make this all happen, one step
at a time.
They are almost done inside
but needed to finish more outside on the upper portion and then begin on the
roof. We are so proud of him for his amazing abilities with this huge project, which
is the first time he has done something of this magnitude. I’m so grateful that
our son, Nate went at the end of May to help him where it was most needed. And last
weekend Brent’s friend, Tyler, went to help as well and accomplished much on
the roof.

Luckly, they got half of it done. |
Lamb of God from Jordan Packer
In the month of April, Jordan,
our 6th child, had the privilege of playing the role of John, the
Apostle, in Rob Gardner’s Lamb of God production, with the Colorado Saints
Chorale in Denver, CO. This was his second year performing (last year he played
the part of the False Witness). Both times we were blown away by his
performance. This week we received a recording of his performance and were grateful
to witness the entirety of the performance and his incredible talent again. They
performed 3 nights in a row.

Becca, our youngest,
celebrated their second child Mason’s 1st Birthday. They had a fun
party for him, and Mason did not disappoint when eating his cake. We love that cutest
bug so much! Happy 1st Birthday Mason!

Kyson Duckworth’s Ballroom Dance & becoming an Elder
This was Kyson’s last Encore
performance and then his last Ballroom Dance performance. He has enjoyed this and
his Encore Choir experience to the max, as some of his dearest friends, who are
the best, have been in one or the other, or both with him. He loves dancing and
singing.

Last Sunday, Kyson also became an Elder and will soon be attending the Temple to receive eternal ordinances, blessings and covenants. He’s ready and excited to begin this journey and onto his mission service.
Maliyah’s mega email update
It was so fun to hear from Maliyah via email as she
gave, all in one email, a big review of her weeks during MTC, at home and in
person and then her couple of weeks in the mission field, in Missouri. Her
letter was so awesome and so fun to read. We are going to love hearing about
her awesome stories in the historical sites of Missouri.
Maliyah is in a quad! They love being together! |
Parts of her shifts are at Liberty Jail. She loves what she is doing and testifying of each day. |
This was before the fourth sister missionary came to join them. |
GOSPEL STUDY REVIEW
Book of Mormon
- Keeping our personal records is of great worth for our posterity.
- Search the scriptures to find precious treasures and truths for me personally.
- We can’t afford to be casual in our scripture study.
- Be faithful to the end.
- Christ suffered deeply in our behalf.
- I show my belief in Jesus Christ by my faith and actions.
- How am I imparting my substance to another? “When we humble ourselves before God and pray with all the energy of our hearts, God will grant us charity.” President Nelson April 2023.
Come Follow Me
- Always love God first, so that we may know how to love others more fully.
- As I abide in Christ, I will put forth good fruit.
- The Savior is one with God, perfectly united in their relationship, their purpose, their love for all children and so much more.
- Work in unity with a common good.
- Love others and declare His name.
- Be intentional in the right direction so that all our goals and visions direct us in that path to Him.
- How am I preparing every day to live in the Lord’s mansion? He may have many mansions, but I only want to be in the Lord’s highest mansion with my husband and posterity. I must live each day with this as my greatest goal.
- What we know should always be grounded in the love of God.
As we close another wonderful week with
our blog, my heart is full of gratitude. Gratitude for a loving Father in
Heaven who lifts us, lightens our load, brings us joy in the midst of the
challenges that so many face in life, yet we have cause to rejoice and exercise
hope, faith and charity, so that we may accomplish His will.
We love you all and wish the Lord’s
choicest blessings to bring you comfort and joy!
With all our love,
